I’m a self-proclaimed Jake-of-all-trades, and not just because it sounds cute. I’ve worn a lot of hats (and heels): Director of Operations at a busy business centre, Legal Assistant in a fast-paced law firm, and the heart behind a little side hustle that is turning into something bigger than I ever imagined.

I grew up in Truro, Nova Scotia — closeted, creative, and craving something more. I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup or fully express myself, but that didn’t stop me. Late at night, I’d sneak onto YouTube, studying beauty gurus like they were gospel. I’d crush up my mom’s old eyeshadows, mix them with lip balm, and make my own formulas—tiny alchemy projects that gave me a sense of freedom in a world that felt pretty confined.

But beauty was just the beginning.

In makeup, I found self-expression. In business, I found purpose. I realized early on that I didn’t just want to help people look good—I wanted to help them build something real. Something lasting. Whether it’s a brand, a business, or just the confidence to show up as yourself, I’m here to help people step into their power.

At Beauty & Business by Jake, I blend branding, social media strategy, and makeup artistry to help people show up boldly, online and in real life. My approach is part logic, part creative queer magic, and all heart. Because your brand should move like you do: with clarity, personality, and unapologetic flair.

Outside of work, you’ll find me blasting early 2000s pop bangers, out for a 'Hot Girl Walk', or sipping pinot while twirling on the dance floor at the local cabaret.
